Year-End Wishes from the Bladder Cancer Canada Team

This year has proven to be a year of exceptional milestones and growth for Bladder Cancer Canada, building on the success of 2022. The achievements we celebrate today are a testament to the wonderful support and collaboration of the bladder cancer community.

Looking back on 2023:
This year, we contributed an impressive $200k to research, contributing to a cumulative total of $3.1 million since 2012. Our support groups now extend coast-to-coast-to-coast, totaling 11 groups. We introduced a live BCC Helpdesk, expanded access to Patient Guidebooks in four more languages, and heightened focus on Quebec initiatives.

Our Peer Support Program grew, accommodating more trained volunteers. In 2023, our online informational sessions engaged a remarkable 17.2k viewers. We successfully reintroduced in-person Patient Education Events in Hamilton, Ontario, and Montreal, Quebec.

Looking ahead to 2024, we are committed to:
  • Providing financial tips and tools to help offset the costs that may be associated with a bladder cancer diagnosis.
  • Continuing to host informative webinars and in-person patient events across Canada to strengthen connections.
  • Creating robust health, wellness and sexual health resources for patients.
  • Educating the medical community and general public about hematuria and its association with bladder cancer.

From all of us here at Bladder Cancer Canada, we wish you joyous holidays and a healthy, prosperous new year.
