We've arrived in Managua, Nicaragua on Friday for our Dental Mission!
We will be focusing our care in the communities of Masachapa and Villa El Carmen and o
ur goal is to treat 500 children and their families during the next week and return to the US on February 18.

It has been an amazing trip so far!

We will be posting photos and impressions during the week, as much as we can, so our family, friends and community back home can experience our dental mission with us. We will also be adding photos to our website.

Dr. Todd Weaver and Dr. John Reckner are leading the trip with nine members of our dental team. Thank you to Robert Ayers of the Hands, Hearts & Smiles Foundation for all of his hard work to make this trip possible.

We are so very grateful for all of the donations from our patients, friends, family and community. Together we raised $7,665! A special thank you goes out to Steven Topieniak, our dental Representative from Henry Schein Dental They donated $12,000 worth of dental equipment and supplies. And thank you to 8-year-old Ava S. who organized her 3rd grade class at Salford Hills Elementary School to collect toothbrushes, toothpaste, small toys and artwork for us to take with us to Nicaragua!

In Service to Our Community

"Weaver, Reckner and Reinhart Dental Associates has always reached out in our local communities to take care of the dental needs of individuals and families who need dental care and access to dental care. On our Dental Mission we will be expanding our services to another community in need, a community beyond our borders and a community that receives very little dental care," says  Dr. Todd Weaver

Annual Smile Day
We provide comprehensive dental care to patients in need in our community. In 2016, the dental exams and treatments equalled approximately $16,000 worth of services. Every year we reach out to the community by contacting schools, churches and the Keystone Opportunity Center to connect with residents who could benefit from our Smile Day event.

Thanksgiving Baskets
For 12 years and counting, our staff has come together to donate all the trimmings for a Thanksgiving dinner, and a $25 gift card for 25 families. The Thanksgiving baskets are delivered to the Keystone Opportunity Center's Food Pantry.

Oral Cancer Cause
Every April we make a donation to Oral Cancer Cause and educate our patients about the importance of oral cancer screenings and early detection. The donations  go to supporting patients and their families during treatment.

Encouraging Our Team to Volunteer
"Our partners have added a half day of paid time off for staff members who volunteer! As they explained, part of our vision is the importance of our connection to the community and they are looking for ways to help each of us take a step in that direction! We envision this will be an inspiration within our staff as well as our patients to look for ways to pay it forward!"
