Mary Sullivan Receives PPL Community Impact Award
Mary Sullivan, Tutor-Mentor with Children & Youth Services since 2014, is PPL’s Community Impact Award winner for 2017! Mary has had a significant and lasting impact on countless children during her time as a Tutor-Mentor, demonstrating that she is dedicated both to her students and to the overall success of the program.

The Community Impact Award is a part of PPL's annual Achievement Awards ceremony honoring participants who are achieving and exceeding their goals, as well as community partners who tirelessly work to support PPL. We gather each year to celebrate their accomplishments and the difference we make together!

Through her commitment to the program, Mary has established relationships with most of the youth who participate in PPL programming, and it is obvious to them that she truly cares. She repeatedly goes above and beyond, donating prizes for PPL’s reading challenge, helping out at many one-time volunteer needs outside of her Tutor-Mentor role, and taking the initiative to recruit and mentor other volunteers. Mary steps in wherever needed: as a childcare volunteer, as a classroom assistant with summer youth employment training, for events like National Night Out, and even cleaning classrooms.

PPL and its participants are lucky to have Mary and her passion for serving!
