"Look, What's Up There!"
What an amazing transformation our Showroom has had since we've hired the illustrious Chris Lowe.
We never had anything hanging from the ceiling. Now we have puppets, a gong, signage, planes, swings, and leaves to feed our 13ft giraffe, and folks love it!
We hear so many comments. Many stores that I visit, have not taken advantage of the interesting opportunities of hanging products and display signs (No, you can't have Chris).
However, there may be someone on your staff who loves to climb a ladder and see what can be done design wise from 12 feet up. It will make a world of difference.
Trust Your Intuition

What I've learned from working with my buyers, is that they really know what's best for their store. However, they don't trust their instinct, and get talked into something they regret.
I hear this story again and again as I travel from store to store. "I had a Rep come through and they told me that everyone is buying this $1,200 prepack display. They said they can't keep them in stock. I've had the display for 5 months and have sold less that $100. I knew it didn't match my store, but I let myself get talked into it."
There are a number of Reps that you work with that have invaluable information. You should incorporate that into your decision making process.
However, ultimately you know what's best for your store, and should always follow your intuition.
