A Year in Review

It's time to look back!

New 🏘️ Developments

The LACDA had much to celebrate in 2023! Every month this year, one of our partner developers celebrated a groundbreaking or grand opening that received financial assistance from the LACDA. Each new development comes with a unique feature perfect for the community it serves! In West Los Angeles, the LACDA is working with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs to build new supportive housing for veterans and their families. Across town in Pasadena, The Salvation Army opened its doors to a new 60-unit site for the formerly unhoused. In the La Puente community, an existing building was rehabilitated to add Project-Based Vouchers for seniors with limited means. Did you miss one of these moments? Watch the video below.

🎈Community Successes 🎂

The LACDA enjoys recognizing our community's successes all year long! In the spring, our South Bay Gardens Public Housing site held a Mother's Day event where residents enjoyed a nail spa day. In the summer, several public housing developments across the County held back-to-school events for families to collect school supplies for their children. In the fall, the Family Self-Sufficiency Program honored several Program graduates. Finally, in November, several of our public housing families held celebrations for families where they received Thanksgiving turkeys for their holiday meals. Watch the video for more!

Our 🤝 Partnerships

The LACDA acknowledges that strong ties with our community partners enable us to make a big impact on the lives of our participants. The LACDA, in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, held a HouseLA event where property owners across the County learned about the benefits of accommodating our unhoused community. We also met with community leaders to discuss what our programs can do for our participants. U.S. Representative Nanette Diaz Barragán visited seniors at the Carmelitos Public Housing site to review the Affordable Connectivity Program while at the Nueva Maravilla Public Housing site, U.S. Representative Jimmy Gomez attended the Spring Resource Fair held for families.
