Dear Fearless! Community,

Summer is in full swing, and so is our commitment to youth leadership, community partnerships, and creating safer, more empowered spaces for all. July has been filled with impactful programs and meaningful connections, and we’re excited to share some of the highlights from this past month with you!

Impactful Events

Summer Youth Leadership Academy

This July, Fearless! hosted two sessions of the 14th Annual Summer Youth Leadership Academy (SYLA), in Newburgh and Port Jervis. Dozens of students from across the region came together for a week of empowerment, team building, and real-world learning about the issues that affect their lives and communities.

Throughout each session, students explored topics like healthy relationships, anti-oppression, human trafficking prevention, and bystander intervention. They learned to speak up, take action, and lead with empathy and courage. Participants also earned 30 hours of community service and left with new skills and a deeper understanding of their power to drive change.

We’re grateful to our incredible Education Team for creating inclusive and inspiring spaces, and to the youth who showed up ready to listen, learn, and lead.

School Supplies Drive – Now Through August

Every child deserves to start the school year feeling prepared, safe, and supported. Fearless! is collecting new school supplies, pre-filled backpacks, and gift cards for youth and families affected by domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and other forms of abuse in Orange and Sullivan Counties.

Ask Me Why I'm Fearless!

This summer, our multimedia and merch campaign Fearless! Voices continues to amplify survivor stories, advocate perspectives, and bold messages of resilience. Our launch theme, Ask Me Why I’m Fearless!, invites our community to explore what it truly means to be fearless in the face of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and all forms of abuse.

At Fearless!, we work every day to end domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and all forms of abuse. But what makes us truly fearless?

  • We center survivors in every decision we make.
  • We believe that safety is a human right.
  • We lead with empathy, not judgment.
  • We advocate, educate, and empower.
  • We show up in schools, shelters, courtrooms, and communities.

Our team is made up of advocates, educators, counselors, and changemakers who are fearless in the face of injustice. And we’re proud to stand beside survivors every step of the way.

Ask Me Why I’m Fearless! can be found on shirts, buttons, and stickers, available at community tabling events and in our online store. Wear it to spark conversations, raise awareness, and remind the world that being fearless can look like listening, speaking up, or standing firm in compassion.

Partner Spotlight

Broadway Accident & Injury

We’re honored to spotlight Broadway Accident & Injury and Dr. Curtis Blumenthal, one of our 2025 Corporate Sponsors and long-time supporters of our mission. As neighbors in our Newburgh office building, their team has continuously shown up, not only as sponsors but as active participants in our work to support survivors and build safer communities.

Their generosity has helped make possible key events like our Swing Fore Hope Golf Tournament and Celebration of Hope Brunch, and their presence has been felt both on the green and at the table. Their continued belief in our work helps fuel the programs, advocacy, and outreach we deliver every day.

We are deeply grateful for this meaningful partnership and for the compassionate commitment of Dr. Blumenthal and the entire Broadway Accident & Injury team. Thank you for standing with us.

As summer continues, we’re energized by the voices, partnerships, and young leaders that are shaping a brighter, safer future. Whether you’re uplifting our youth, amplifying our message, or helping us fill backpacks for the new school year, your support makes a lasting impact. Thank you for being part of our Fearless! community, together, we’re building a world where safety, dignity, and justice are for everyone.
