WAYS TO GIVE

Dear Fearless! Community,

January is a time for new beginnings, but for many survivors, it is also a time of uncertainty and challenges. That’s why we remain steadfast in our mission, to provide safety, support, and advocacy for those impacted by domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual violence, and other forms of abuse.

This month, we had the privilege of engaging with our community in meaningful ways, raising awareness about human trafficking and stalking, and attending several community events.

Human Trafficking Awareness

Throughout January, we engaged in outreach efforts to educate the public about human trafficking, its indicators, and available resources. On January 11th our team wore blue to show solidarity with survivors and raise awareness about this critical issue.

As part of our commitment to education and prevention, our educators held a Human Trafficking 101 workshop and facilitated a screening of I Am Little Red, a powerful short film designed to educate youth about the dangers of trafficking and exploitation.

Fearless! staff grouped together, all wearing a shade of blue.

Human Trafficking is defined as the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of people through force, fraud, or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit. Men, women, and children of all ages and from all backgrounds can become victims of this crime. Traffickers often use violence or fraudulent employment agencies and fake promises of education and job opportunities to trick and coerce their victims.

Community Events

Fearless! advocates were active in the community this month, spreading awareness and connecting with local partners. Here’s a look at some of the events we participated in:

Girls Night of Dancing

Community Fundraiser | January 25th

We are so grateful to Deb Muzuruk for including Fearless! as one of the night’s beneficiaries of her event. Over 100 ladies enjoyed a fun night of dancing with music by DJ Tara at the Hortonville Fire Department. Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees, we received over $1,000 from raffle and event proceeds, alongside VIP and the Hortonville Volunteer Fire Company. Thank you to everyone who made the night so special!

As we look ahead to February, we remain committed to educating, advocating, and empowering survivors. Thank you for standing with us in this work. Your support makes all the difference.

Safe Love Is Art Contest

Fearless! invites artists of all kinds from grades 6-12 to join us in promoting healthy relationships and creating change.  Feeling safe in a relationship means that you have the freedom to be your authentic self without fear of being judged or rejected. It is about feeling seen, heard, and understood. For this year’s theme, students should explore what it means to have safe love or give safe love. As our world is ever-changing, so too are the ways in which we all engage in safe healthy relationships with our family, friends, or partner.
