Greetings!

What an exciting February it’s been here at United Way of the Big Bend! Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program kicked off tax season, with appointments filling almost as soon as they opened. We’re looking forward to another successful year of recovering crucial tax refunds for our neighbors in the Big Bend with our treasured VITA volunteers. Women United’s Power of the Purse event returned, showcasing fabulous designer bags donated by community partners and raising essential funds for UWBB’s campaign.

POWER OF THE PURSE RAISES CRUCIAL FUNDS FOR THE BIG BEND

We had an incredible time hosting the 2026 Power of the Purse at Goodwood Museum & Gardens! AFTER-SCHOOL SPELLING BEE BRINGS STUDENTS TOGETHER FOR FRIENDLY COMPETITION

Rec, United Way of the Big Bend's 21st Century After-School program held a Spelling Bee for students in grades 3-5 at Riley, Ruediger, and Hartsfield Elementary schools. This spelling bee promoted literacy skills, built confidence for young learners, and encouraged friendly competition among the participants. We're so proud of everyone who participated, and congrats to this year's winners!
