This month is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Every February across the United States, teens and those who support them join together for a national effort to raise awareness to teen dating violence. Dating violence is more common than you may think. One in three teens in the U.S. will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse by someone they are in a relationship with before they become adults. And nearly half (43%) of college women report experiencing violent and abusive dating behaviors. In Forsyth County we are lucky to have organizations and programs to help those in need and who provide prevention and educational resources on teen dating violence. Thank you to the organizations providing these services to our teens, including:
Forsyth County Anti-Violence Task Force: https://www.facebook.com/FCDVTF/
Rape Response Inc.: https://www.raperesponse.com/

There are still appointments available! United Way of Forsyth County is happy to partner with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers to provide free tax preparation to low/moderate income taxpayers and those individuals 60 years or older.

Call us at 770-844-9691 to schedule your appointment.

The Census helps communities understand their present while preparing for the future. An accurate 2020 Census count will ensure that Georgians receive appropriate federal funding for improvements for our state in the areas of public health, education, infrastructure and programs serving families and children. Work campaigns make up a huge part of how United Way of Forsyth County is able to give back to our partners and community. This month we honor Publix and their employees for donating their time, talents and resources to United Way.
