BCG 101: What to know
Join us on Tuesday, March 8 at 7pm ET for a free webinar on BCG (Bacillus Calmette-Guerin) for bladder cancer patients and caregivers. In this webinar, we’ll explain what BCG is, how it’s used to treat bladder cancer, potential side effects and the different strains that are currently available in Canada. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Madhuri Koti, Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences and Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Cancer Biology and Genetics Division from the Queen’s Cancer Research Institute at Queen’s University as our speaker for this event.

Walk with us in 2022!
We are getting excited for the 12th annual Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer!

This September, lace up your sneakers and join us as we walk for bladder cancer patients across Canada. Together with your family and friends, you can “Walk Where You Are” and be a part of Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer.

We are thrilled to kick-off the year with a brand-new fundraising platform (launching spring 2022) and exciting new programs to support you in your fundraising efforts. This year Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer aims to engage more patients, family, and friends, raise more funds for research and patient support, and represent more communities across Canada. We need your leadership to help us reach these goals.

While we might be physically apart, we can come together to support bladder cancer patients!

Contact us TODAY. Be one of the first to hear about the exciting new initiatives for the 2022 Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer. Fill out the Request for Information form on our website here.
World Cancer Day
On February 4, we were proud to celebrate our partnership with the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition on World Cancer Day!

The WBCPC’s focus is to "promote greater global awareness about bladder cancer, advocate for the best possible support, information and care for people affected by the disease, no matter where they live in the world. We do this by building a strong community of bladder cancer patient advocates around the world. We raise awareness about
bladder cancer across the globe, with a particular focus on unrepresented and under-represented countries. Our members and affiliates work at the national level to provide patient support and information first-hand. Together with our strategic partners, we aim to reach as many people around the world as possible with our messaging, and improve all-around awareness of bladder cancer.”

Our goal on this day – and every day – is to create awareness and support bladder cancer patients across Canada, and around the world.

Do you have muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma?
We would love to hear from anyone, anywhere in the world, who has had a muscle-invasive urothelial carcinoma (MIUC) diagnosis and experience with Opdivo (nivolumab) OR has had a MIUC diagnosis and experience with other treatments! If you meet either of these criteria, please complete the survey using the button below.
Why participate? The pan-Canadian Oncology Drug Review (pCODR) makes recommendations about whether provincial health plans should pay for new drugs. Bladder Cancer Canada is making a submission to pCODR for their review of Opdivo (nivolumab) to ensure patient voices are represented during the review process. These surveys are an important part of the process.

Your voice is important! Reminder that no matter where you are in the world, we would love to hear from you.

There is more information about this process in the survey link. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
Many thanks to our latest fundraisers!

Many thanks to our friends and supporters who recently held personal fundraisers for anniversaries, birthdays and other important life events to support BCC and the work we do.

Shout-outs this month go to Rob, Kristine, David, Sierra, Pat and Catherine! We so appreciate all that you’ve done.

Be recognized! Visit our website here to learn how to host your own fundraiser.
