As we prepare to go to New York this weekend to receive the Sanctity of Life award at the Queens Village Republican Club's Lincoln Dinner, we are launching our first fundraiser as a public charity.
We sincerely appreciate every single dollar given to us by our generous donors. If you have donated in the past, please accept another sincere thank you and share this fundraising effort with your friends and family.
Our ability to get our life affirming message into Jewish places of worship and Jewish establishment organizations is very difficult. Reform and Conservative religious and community leaders reject our message entirely as hostile to the sacrosanct heresy that abortion is a Jewish value and a religious right/rite.
Observant communities across the spectrum of Orthodox sects reject our message as unsuitable for their religious communities. Unable to place our content in synagogues, temples, shuls, and much of Jewish media, we rely on print and online publishers who agree with our mission to bring much needed pro-life education to Jewish communities, provide Jewish friendly pregnancy care and adoption referrals, and announce healing opportunities for Jewish women and men who suffer after a regrettable abortion decision.
Daily, we reach out behind the scenes to rabbis and Jewish community leaders with our resources. We are making some progress using this strategy, however, until we receive a more positive reception to our individual outreach efforts, we need to present our message in as many Jewish outlets as possible.
Our decision to apply for a public charity status stemmed from a realization that expanding our media reach would require public support. Flyer ad space costs a lot of money, and we want to be able to purchase space in more publications over time to provide Jews and the general public content that presents Judaism as a life affirming religion instead of a theology that endorses child killing.
