Membership Edition
Dozens of business and community leaders took part in the Chamber’s What’s Next for the Workforce? Business After COVID forum at the St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater. Some things will be the same. Many will not.
Dr. Carly Paro-Tompkins of Nova Southeastern University’s College of Psychology, presents A Mental Wellness Report at the Business After COVID forum.
It’s a whole new world!
What’s Next for the Workforce? Business After COVID
*****A large group gathered to hear what some experts had to say at the Chamber’s What’s Next for the Workforce? Business After COVID forum.
*****The presentations included a series of facts and figures from the Tampa Bay Dashboard by Dave Sobush, director of Policy and Research at the Tampa Bay Partnership. Several industry indicators he showed point to the regional economy getting back to pre-COVID conditions by later this year.
*****A Mental Wellness Report was provided by Dr. Carly Paro-Tomkins, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at Nova Southeastern University’s College of Psychology. Stressful conditions the past 15 months has caused many to reassess their lives, most notably their work, she said. And many will pursue new life paths.
*****Amanda Jacobson of United Way Suncoast offered a Women and the Workforce Report. As COVID slowly moves behind us, it will have a lasting impact on the role that women play in our economy, she noted. Issues ranging from daycare services to flexible hours and remote workplaces will need to be addressed by employers.
*****Thanks to our Presenting Sponsors of the program, Centratel, Nova Southeastern University and Pinellas Technical College and Marketing Sponsors BioLife Plasma Services, Cloud Law Firm and State Farm Team Cocco.
