Daniel Memorial Institute’s National Independent Living Conference, held August 28 – 30, 2019 in Orlando FL, invited Our Friends Place (OFP) to present a Transitional Living Center (TLC) program.
Nicole Price, Residential Program Director, and Libby Woolverton, Non-Residential Program Director, along with Kit, recent alumni and Dez, a current resident, presented a three-hour workshop session to help other organizations at the conference better understand the impact TLC living provides for at-risk youth. North Texas Giving Day was a huge success for OFP this year thanks to our many generous donors and Friends! With matching funds from The Kaleta A. Doolin Foundation, our Board of Directors, Advisory Council, and Friends, our goal was to raise $35,000 to help prevent 24 vulnerable young women from becoming homeless. Many thanks to OFP’s 215 donors as we can now help more than double the number of young women we thought possible! Click here for a tally of the NTxGD results!
Visit OFP’s volunteer portal to fill out a profile and receive notices of upcoming volunteer activities. Annual Stuff/Stamp/Seal events occur soon so check the volunteer calendar for updates.
Holiday and gift-giving shopping is coming up! Take a look at the shopping partner programs where OFP receives a donation based on the purchase amount. We also have a Client Wish List posted with a direct link to Amazon. Thank you for continuing to support the young women we serve as you shop this holiday season!
