Hello Girl Scouts,
With the announcement of Governor Cooper’s order to begin a modified Stay at Home plan starting Friday, May 8 at 5:00 p.m., I wanted to also update you with additional guidance on our closures and cancellations.
After careful consideration and review, the following update has been made regarding closures and cancellations for Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines.
- All in-person resident and day camps, events, trainings and campsite reservations have been cancelled through August 14, 2020. All registrants will receive refunds.
- The suspension of all in-person Girl Scout troop gatherings is extended through June 12, 2020 and will be subject to further review pending official guidance and regarding social distancing, group size requirements and safety protocols.
- Our offices, retail shops, and camp properties remain closed. We will continue to monitor official guidance in hopes of re-opening some, if not all, by August 14. Council staff are working remotely and are available to assist and support by phone or email. Retail shops remain available to assist customers with orders through phone and email and offer free shipping. Curbside pickup will be available starting May 18 (additional details coming soon). This timeline will continue to be evaluated and will be modified as needed in accordance with official guidance and safety protocols.
Please see below our updates and communication for our members, and
reach out to our Customer Care team with any questions or concerns
by email
or call 1-800-284-4475. Continue to stay engaged and active in Girl Scouts by visiting our

Although our Girl Scout cookie season ended before social distancing began, many other councils had just started their program and had to suspend their
door-to-door sales and cookie booths, impacting their sales. In response, GSUSA has started a new online ordering program called Girl Scout Cookie Care, where customers can buy cookies online or have them donated to first responders, volunteers, and local causes in need. Spread the word to support your Girl Scout sisters and their cookie goals!

Girl Scout Cadette Sarah Cate from Wake Troop #1437 had a blast practicing her outdoor skills by pitching a tent for backyard camping. She and her family spent the evening stargazing and used an app to identify planets and constellations.
Share your Girl Scouting at Home experiences by posting a photo to your social media page and tagging us and #OurGSNCCPCommunity or share them through our
