Our Habitat Partnership

Through a partnership called Building Hope, our congregation joins with six other faith communities to complete a Habitat house each year. Our part in this effort includes working on the Habitat house on three days during the building season. We've also set a financial goal of $10,000 to contribute to this year's Building Hope house.

This year's Building Hope partner family is Chrit Hae and Collage Paw, who are connected to the Karen community that have joined us for worship in the past. I want to invite you to join me in the build dates that our church has committed to by signing up to swing a hammer on November 20, January 29, or March 19. If you use the Habitat link to sign up for one of these three dates, you'll be in the company of many other volunteers from UCCH. I have walked through build sites with Habitat staff this year - and I know that these work sites include thoughtful measures to address Covid-19. This is a great way to join others in the community and a safe way for us to serve our neighbors.

Please consider making a gift to United Church of Chapel Hill for our Habitat partnership. And please sign up join us at the build site! I can't wait to hear the music of a thousand hammers this year.

Sincerely,

Rev. Cameron Barr
