A Dose of Hope | November 2025

Greetings!

November is a month of gratitude, and our hearts couldn't be more full! Each month of the year we feel the support and belief in our mission from community members, but this month is extra special because we are ready to move in and open doors to the next cohort to the ADC Family Campus!

We will be welcoming a new cohort to the ADC Family Campus by the end of November 2025!

We have received a temporary Certificate of Occupancy! This means we can begin the process of moving in and installation of furniture into residences and program buildings.

The program process of choosing

families has begun!

Here are pictures of all that has been completed and installed at the campus.

  • We have power to all of homes, offices, classrooms, and donation center.
  • Landscaping is bringing a whole new look to the campus! Turf is going to go into all of the courtyards and is on site.
  • Playground and community gardens are started, too!
  • Directional signs have been installed.
  • Outdoor furniture has been delivered and onsite. Those will be installed once landscape is complete.
  • The Family Center has been stuccoed and drywall interior is complete.

As hard as we’re working, we know our families will work even harder. We hope that you know that the investments we make in their lives will blossom into hope for generations.

"Thank you for all your support! A fresh start for me and my family. Your influence continues to impact the four generations of my family." ~ Saranam Mom

This expansion has taught us so much about visioning, determination, and hope. This has also enforced how thankful we are for our community. We wish you a season of warmth and hope in your hearts and homes!

Support Local, Supporting Saranam

We are excited about a new partnership with Sunward Federal Credit Union and Tractor Brewing Company. They recently collaborated to make a new brew, with a lavender and lemon flavor, named Sol Cider. When you purchase a pint now through January 22, $2 of the sale will support Saranam. A dollar from each organization, WOW! The fresh brew launched, October 22. Read more about this latest collaboration.

Thank you for this opportunity to share our story and inspire others to help end family homelessness and poverty in Albuquerque.

We're Hiring!

We are looking for a foundational science and mathematics instructor for our adult learners. This is a contract position beginning November 2025 through April 2026. This is a rewarding and inspiring role and it will be at our new ADC Family Campus.

Next Month! A Unique Way to Give

Starting in December, there will be a unique way to support Saranam! We are one of five local organizations invited to participate in the Light the World Giving Machine from December 12, 2025 - January 1, 2026.

The Giving Machine is a vending machine that invites people to donate funds towards preselected tangible items to help those in need. The five items that will be in the machine to help Saranam families are:

  • Month of internet access ($15)
  • A family night activity ($35)
  • GED and other educational fees ($50)
  • A month of gas assistance ($75)
  • A Life Skills class ($150)

100% of the proceeds will go directly to the nonprofit. The machine will be available for visitors at Cottonwood Mall near Dillard's on the lower level.

Click HERE to see all the special events scheduled at the machine to add to your experience.

With Gratitude

Saranam has been feeling the love from our community partners! First we'd like so send a big thank you to Christian Brothers Automotive and their mechanics.

For their Nation Day of Service, they offered a dozen of our families basic maintenance and small repairs to their cars. Staff met with families beforehand to evaluate what work was needed for each car. On the day of their appointments, all the work was completed and some extras were added on too! Thank you to ALL those who welcomed our families and made the waiting FUN! There was food, games, popcorn, and a bouncy house.

The Heart of the Home

Baskets of Food and Memories

Since 2017, The Rotary Club of Albuquerque del Norte has been donating baskets full of ingredients for Saranam families to make Thanksgiving favorites. Club members, Monica and Marty Padilla, told us about their experiences over the years. The baskets give so much more than a meal to our families!

Holiday Gift Drive

Contact Sunny Holmes if you or your group would like to get involved with our Holiday Gift Drive: sholmes@saranamabq.org

Can you hear Santa’s sleigh bells?

Would you like to spread holiday cheer to a family or child this holiday season? Serving families at two campuses means we need lots of help to brighten up the holiday for everyone. We have a few ways to contribute this year:

  • Purchase a gift from our Walmart wishlist *

(The wishlist will be updated as we gather more

information from all our families.)

  • Sponsor gifts for children or parents at either campus.

  • Donate gift cards so parents can choose something for their kids.

Thank you for helping make sure every parent and child has something special to create a cherished memory.

* Note that the shipping address on SparkGood is pre-filled with a secure address. Please use this address or your own home address. Do not send to Saranam's Administrative offices, as we cannot guarantee it will be delivered during business hours.

Community Corner & More Gratitude

Nusenda helps our families stay warm and inspired

Last month, Nusenda had their 9th Annual Community Day. They partnered with many organizations in Albuquerque and across the state to help many communities..

For Saranam, they donated and packed up warm kits for our current families and future families! They filled backpacks or duffels with a coat, hat, gloves, scarf, thermal socks, and chapstick. Additionally, they made inspirational signs for families. Thank you for helping our families stay warm this season and the seasons to come!

Squeeky Clean 🧼

Thank you to the women's and youth group of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for the recent donation of personal hygiene supplies. Supplies like these go

are in our Welcome Baskets for new families and to current families on a monthly basis.

Knitting & Pearling🧶

We'd like to thank the local group named, The Knit Wits, for their colorful, super soft hats and scarves. They will help our families feel wrapped in love as the temperatures drop this fall and winter.

Family Meals 🍽

Thank you to Shepard of the Valley families who decorated and filled these bags with food. Each bag has a recipe and all the ingredients for a fall dinner. Thank you for filling our families' bellies with a warm meal!

Gift Cards for Food

Our families are in a precarious situation with the government shut-down and their SNAP benefits. Even with the federal contingency fund paying partial and the governor’s coverage by the state, there are still unknowns. Please consider donating Walmart gift cards to help cover gaps in food for Saranam families.

Thank you, Volunteers!

Thank you to the individuals and groups who have volunteered this fall! You all bring excitement, people power, and kindness to Saranam. We appreciate your time and talents!
