Our Immediate Plans...

A note from Phyllis:

Greetings, all, from Peace Village, Ogun State, Nigeria! I want to inform you that I'll be staying here at Peace Village until the end of October, due to three major activities.

1. The school inspections by the Ministry of Education in Ogun State

If you'll remember, during the last week of last session, 2025 - 2026, the Baale and Kabiyesi closed down our primary school here, saying we were harboring terrorists and making bombs here. We immediately reported this to the police, and to the Ministry of Education. The Ministry advised us to submit all our documents and apply for full registration and status in the State, which we did. As I was in the US at the time, Rev. John Raji came to Ogun State and represented me at many of the meetings. We were told by the Ministry and the police that Baale and Kabiyesi had no authority whatsoever to close our schools. Prinicipal Ojo and HeadMaster Peter worked very hard and submitted everything needed, and were told only final inspections remained before full registration could take place.

The first inspection took place on Tuesday, very successfully. A second will happen this coming Tuesday. We were given permission to open our schools.

We plan to visit Kabiyesi when this is done, and inform him that the Ministry is most satisfied with the documents submitted and the inspections, and has given us full permission to open schools. We will remind him that no illegal activity has ever taken place here. This is a place of peace, learning and friendly cooperation with our neighbors.

2. The second thing is, our paddocks are a mess. The man who is in charge of rotational grazing did NOT do his job, and the paddocks are seriously overgrown. They are not useable in their present condition. We have hired workers to clear the paddocks completely in readiness for planting grass when the rainy season starts. This project will be expensive, and so I need to be here to ensure that the job is properly done before paying the workers.

3. Reverend Mike Reynen arrives into Abuja at the beginning of November, to conduct the Free Methodist Church annual conferences. I'm the one to host him in all the travels and meetings, meetings which will last through November 14th.

I am anxious to begin work in Port Harcourt! However... I don't want to go to Port Harcourt and begin work there, then leave to host Rev. Mike for those 2 weeks. Better to put all this SFA and conference work behind us, then go to Port and concentrate on that project, giving it our full attention.

So, these are the plans, for your information!

Thank you, and God bless!
