7th Annual Goldie Gala Breaks Attendance Records
Nearly 800 attendees gathered at Wintrust's Grand Banking Hall on Thursday, September 21, 2023, to celebrate women leaders in commercial real estate at the Goldie Gala. Thanks to the contributions of nearly 200 sponsors, The Goldie Initiative raised over $975,000 in support of scholarship, mentorship and leadership development of female graduate students in the industry. The Goldie Initiative Explores Northeast Expansion in NYC
On November 2-3, 2023, CEO Megan Abraham, pictured above far right, with Goldie Alumnae Janay Hull (far left), Cydney Lyons (second from left) and Arianna Wendt (second from right), participated in an exploratory visit to New York City, focused on supporting Goldie Scholars studying at schools in the region, reconnecting with Alumnae of The Goldie Initiative, and expanding the pool of mentors and stakeholders interested in seeing more women in leadership positions in the commercial real estate industry.

Virtual Mentor Matching Platform Now Available to Goldie Gala 2023 Sponsors
The Goldie Initiative connects a wide variety of extraordinary leaders in the CRE industry with early to mid-career women at sponsor companies utilizing a virtual matching portal.
Through the platform, sponsoring companies may nominate female employees who can book one-on-one in-person or virtual mentoring sessions with seasoned female and male executives from January-July 2024. Contact us to learn about accessing this valuable sponsorship benefit.

SIOR, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, hosted its 2023 Fall Event in Chicago. Goldie B. Wolfe Miller, Founder of The Goldie Initiative, presented the keynote address to visionary leaders at the Women's Leadership Breakfast. Lynn Reich, 2020 Goldie Gala Shero (pictured below to left), received SIOR’s Howell Watson Distinguished Service Award.

New Study Draws Attention to "Broken Rung" Concept, a Possible Barrier for Women Leaders to Advance in Corporate Environments
The "Women in the Workplace 2023" report from McKinsey & Co. identifies that "for every 100 male employees promoted from entry-level jobs to managerial roles, only 87 women received a similar promotion."
Women enter corporate environments at the same rate that men do. Therefore, the entry pipeline may not be issue; rather, it is helping women navigate their professional paths and advocate for themselves once they are in their early-career roles that should be addressed.
