Our January Newsletter

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Thanks to all who helped to make 2025 a very successful year for us, one that witnessed not only strong sales but also a measurable increase in the number of shoppers and browsers who visited our shop in Conway. While we won't be putting out our OPEN flags during the winter months, we invite you to call to arrange a visit.

This newsletter marks the start of its 23rd year of continuous monthly publication. As is our tradition, it contains an account of our annual New Year's Eve dinner for two. We've also included a group of twenty-one new listings, another tale from our early years in business, and a bit of serendipity on The Back Page.

We hope it brings you pleasure.

Our New Year's Eve Feast

For decades, we've celebrated the arrival of the new year by spending New Year's Eve Day in the kitchen preparing a multi-course dinner for two. This year we've introduced a new ingredient - moderation - four courses instead of the usual six! Click on the fireplace to join us.

New stock listings for January

This month we're listing several early smalls and jewelry pieces, early oak, and a large Turkoman carpet. Click the collage to view them all.

We should also let you know that we've reduced prices on many of the jewelry listings on our website. If you've been wishing that some favorite was a bit less costly, you might want to have a look.

Notes From Our Past

What's in a name?

This month we return to 2005, for a short essay on names - business and otherwise.
