Father Steve Stahley Concelebrates Mass with OLUK

Fr. Steve joined us for Mass on January 12th, the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. It seems this may be the start of a beautiful relationship and we expect Fr. Steve back with us soon.

We have a new Organist/Pianist

Junghoon (John) Park, has joined us as our keyboardist. Together with Jared, John and Mike our music ministry is filling out nicely.

He is a graduate of University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Junghoon. John is truly amazing! He has participated in prestigious music festivals and competitions such as National Music Festival, Wonderlic Competition, Liszt-Garrison Competition, and International Keyboard Institute Festival.

Junghoon has recently been awarded a Special Honors award from 2016 Paderewski Competition in Hartford, CT, and have participated in Premio Scriabin Competition in Grosseto, Italy and 2017 International Chopin Competition in Hartford, CT, as well as being selected as the top 12 live performers in New York Piano Festival and Competition in July 2017. He was also recently selected as as the 2018 Rising Star for his stirring rendition of Earl Wild’s “Etude No. 4”, based on the George Gershwin standard “Embraceable You”.

Newsletters

Email of our newsletter is performing well. The subscriber rolls have grown steadily from September 2019 to well approaching 400 as of this mailing. We get a decent open rate of 66% and a click-through to the website of 20%.

Social Media

Our Lady's Facebook Page is continuing to get traction. Our page promotional activities have allowed us to reach 4,097 people triggering 250 "engagements " of one sort or another: 30 clicks onto the website and 13 new "likes." Of our viewers, 71% are women and 29% men. The distribution across brackets seems evenly spread for the most part.

Alliances

We are in active discussions with two groups of like-minded Catholics seeking partnership and exploring ways of sharing resources and efforts. These are:

CITI (Celibacy Is The Issue), an association of married priests. Father Steve is a member of CITI
RCWP (Roman Catholic Women Priests). The Maryland community of RCWP, The Living Water Community, will be discussing what type of relationship might be possible at their Discernment Day this month.

Dignity USA

We are also in conversations with Dignity USA. Dignity was founded in 1969 by Father Pat Nidorf in San Diego and has become the largest community o f Catholic gay, lesbian, bi, trans, queer and intersex people and their friends. Tony and I are long standing members of Dignity having belonged to the Philadelphia, Central Pennsylvania and Washington DC chapters over the years. There has never been a chapter in Baltimore. We hope to be the first.

Changes in CACINA

New CACINA Chief Liturgist

CACINA Presiding Bishop Anthony Santore has appointed Rev Victor DeSantis as head liturgist for the church.

Father Vic together with Father Smith, are the deans of our St. Charles Institute for Clergy Formation. He and Fr. Peter were instrumental in my formation as a priest.

We wish Father Vic well in the additional role and hope he comes to see us soon.

Pray to Our Lady

Remember Our Lady is always there to intercede for us with Her Son to undo all the knots we have in our life.
