QUARTERLY MEETING / RSVP PAGE

Hello valued partner!

It has been quite some time since we have sent out a partner newsletter. We have been updating our strategic plan and decided we would like to start sending out a newsletter to keep everyone in the loop. One of the things we do very well in Door County is maximize our collective impact through collaborative efforts. This newsletter will serve as means to "stay connected" in between our Quarterly Partnership meetings.

Going forward we would like to highlight a partner organization in each new edition. Rebecca will reach out to you ahead for the upcoming edition to get input for the newsletter.

As mentioned above, we have developed a new strategic plan for 2024-2026. It has four focus areas; strengthening families, school readiness, services and activities for youth, and financial sustainability and growth. You can view the plan by clicking the button below

Strategic Plan Action Item Updates

Three sub-committees were formed to carry out the some of the Strategic Plan Action items.

  • Parent Support Committee
  • Community Resource Committee
  • Growth & Sustainability Committee

If you have an interest in participating in one of these committees please contact Rebecca - rebecca@unitedwaydc.com

Sub-committee Descriptions

Strengthening Families: Parents will have the tools and resources they need to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of themselves and their children.

Chad has been running Triple P classes at Sawyer Elementary and Children First Development Center. Those classes run until the end of the year. More classes and locations are coming in 2025

Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) - classes are being held through the end of the year at Children First Development Center and Sawyer Elementary School. Classes are in person, include childcare and a meal and are open to all parents living in Door County.

More classes coming in 2025 - watch our website and Facebook page

School Readiness: Children of all ages will come to school socially and emotionally ready to learn.

  • We continue to support the efforts of the Welcome Baby program. This program provides resource information and support to mother's who live in Door County either prenatally or at birth to ensure baby has the best start to life. Connecting early makes a positive impact on the family and greatly increases the child being successful at school.

  • Rebecca is working on setting up times to reintroduce herself to school districts, child care centers and other appropriate organizations to educate new staff on services she and Chad offer to parents and children.

Service and Activities for Youth: Elevate the voice of youth and increase their engagement in the community

  • The Executive Committee will be looking closer at this focus area in 2025
  • Chad is looking at holding some WoW (Words of Wisdom) Cafes in 2025

Financial Sustainability and Growth: Obtain new, stable funding sources to fully support Partnership operations

  • This sub-committee is looking at possibly applying for a capacity grant in early 2025
  • A fundraising campaign took place in 2024 - the campaign raised just under $3k for the organizations general budget
