Welcome to our May Newsletter
Another Successful Fashion for Compassion Fundraiser!
Thank you to our generous and compassionate customers for making our annual fundraiser a great success! We raised over $10,400 for the Nanaimo Community Hospice Society!
We also want to thank all of the Nanaimo businesses who donated their products and services as prizes and silent auction items. Your generous contributions were much appreciated and integral to the success of the fundraiser.
Reserve your seat as soon as possible because this event always sells out fast! Our Joseph Ribkoff Trunk Show lets you preview their new styles before they reach the stores.
Enjoy a fashion show and then shop over 250 samples from their upcoming collection. You can order your colour and size from the samples, or you can take home ready-to-wear pieces from our current spring inventory. This is a special opportunity to be a fashion insider!
If you are looking for something unique for a special occasion, Joseph Ribkoff's dresses are perfect. The selection at this event is simply amazing - we'll have more than we can even carry at the Boutique!
Tickets are $5 and refundable with purchase at the Trunk Show. Call us at 250-751-7799 to reserve your seat.

Style Tip: Organize Your Closet this Spring
Spring is a great time to clear out your closet and make room for the new!
First, remove anything from your closet that you can't wear like pictures, cleaning supplies, yarn etc. If you can't wear it, you don't need it in your closet! Next, pull out all of your out-of-season clothes and set them aside. It will overwhelming to deal with all your clothing at once, but it's worthwhile. Start by organizing the current season and then move onto the other pieces.
Now group your clothes by similar items before purging. For example, group up your black pants. When you see them together, it's easy to see which pair looks tired or realize that you really don't need 5 pairs that look the same. Be honest in this process - how many keepsake t-shirts do you really need? Don't hold back! Finally, try on your remaining items. You can't know how they fit when they're on the hanger. For each piece remaining, ask the following questions:
Is it a good fit? Is it a good colour for me?
Can it be altered to fit better?
Is it a current style or dated?
Is the item in good shape or showing its wear?
Can it be easily updated?
Do you still love it? If not, toss it!
Donate, resell or swap your "toss" clothes and reward yourself with a few new colourful and stylish spring fashions to look and feel your best!
We look forward to seeing you at our Joseph Ribkoff Trunk Show and during our Mother's Day Contest this May!
Thank you again for your support of the Nanaimo Community Hospice Society through our Fashion for Compassion fundraiser.
