Our May 2022 Newsletter
Happy Spring!
A rainy May afternoon, and the lilacs we planted last spring to keep our dwarf inkberry plants company are loving it. We've been home from Europe for two weeks, and our days have been filled with preparations for our Spring Opening that will take place in a little more than a week. We'll be online only on Saturday, May 14, but our doors will be open for visitors on Sunday. We're excited about the more than five dozen pieces that will be shown for the first time and about the format of our online/live show. You'll find more information below.

Because of the Opening, there are no new listings in this newsletter, but the photo feature of our best European meals of 2022 might make up for it.

Pippin and The Back Page will complete this month's newsletter. We hope that you’ll enjoy it all.
Coming soon - our Spring Opening
We feel exceptionally fortunate to be able to visit Europe regularly. Our visits not only refresh our spirits, but they also enable us to find exciting new pieces to offer to our customers at home.

For years, we marked our return to Conway with a gala opening in our shop featuring our latest finds. Covid has changed the way we do this, but the essence of the event remains the same.

At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, the online part of our opening will begin with an email to all of our newsletter subscribers. The email will contain a link to a page containing thumbnails linking to detailed descriptions of each of the five dozen newly listed pieces. Interested buyers are asked to communicate with us through the email link found on each page. Although the first hour of the opening is very hectic, we will honor inquiries in the order we receive them.

We're trying something a bit different this time. On Friday the 13th we'll send out an email containing a link to the opening. Clicking the link on Friday will only open a placeholder for the show, but at 10:00 on Saturday morning it will become active, so there's no need to wait for your email, which is sometimes a couple of minutes late.

On Sunday morning we'll open our doors at 10:00 to in-person shoppers as well. If you're nearby, we'd love to see you.
A small photographic essay on good food
One of the dining rooms in the curiously named Amsterdam restaurant d'Vijff Fliegen (The Five Flies), a renowned 17th-century landmark where we've enjoyed many fine dinners during our visits to the city. This was but one of the exceptional meals we enjoyed during our four-week trip, and we'd like to share a few of the best with you. We're including restaurant credits, hoping that they might prove useful to someone planning a visit to any of these locales. Just click the picture above and be prepared to drool.

The Back Page
Last Sunday - a beautiful spring day, long overdue.
Jan was in the garden and photographed some of the narcissus that has been thriving in Pumpkin Hollow.
Turn up your volume and click on the picture for a brief video.
Be well, stay safe.
Thanks for reading.
