Bladder Cancer Awareness Month is here! 

  

Throughout the month of May, help shed a light on the 5th most common cancer in Canada and raise awareness of symptoms and the importance of early detection. 


See below for some ways you can get involved:

  • Share Bladder Cancer Canada’s social media posts with your network. 
  • Become a volunteer to give back in your neighbourhood or nationally.
  • Donate to support patients, raise awareness and fund innovative research. 
  • Share your story with those around you, or with the national community. 

Tim Saw Red: New Podcast Episode Available NOW

Following a hockey injury, Tim saw red. If it hadn't been for his wife urging him to get checked, he never would have known it signaled bladder cancer.



Tim shared the powerful story of navigating his diagnosis and the impact it had on his family with Summer Stewart for the Bladder Cancer Canada Podcast.

NEW Resource Alert! 📢


We are excited to announce the launch of our NEW Hematuria Brochure, created to empower both the medical community and patients with the knowledge needed to recognize a critical early warning sign of bladder cancer: blood in the urine, also known as hematuria. 


We’d like to thank Mia Papasideris for creating the content of the brochure, as well as Priyanka Yolmo, Dr. Luke Lavallee, Dr. Aly-Khan Lalani, and our volunteer review team.

Systemic immune reprogramming and response to BCG therapy in patients with bladder cancer


Patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer often face high recurrence rates despite treatment with BCG therapy.


Dr. Charles Graham has been conducting research to understand why some bladder cancer patients respond well to BCG therapy while others do not.

Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer Survey

Do you have experience with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC)? The survey below asks questions about a NMIBC diagnosis, treatment options, and treatment decisions. Survey respondents are also invited to submit their contact information to participate in a Patient Advisory Board in June.

The Canadian Cancer Research Alliance is now accepting abstract submissions until June 6 for the 2025 Canadian Cancer Research Conference in Calgary, Alberta from November 2-4.

 

#CCRC2025 welcomes researchers of all levels working across the cancer spectrum.
