Dear Fostering Promise Partners and Collaborators
We have lots of great news and updates to share!
The Tally Is in On Our First Holiday Campaign!
We are delighted to report that thanks to your support and the feature on Fostering Promise in the San Jose Mercury News Wish Book, we raised over $90,000 in our first holiday fundraising campaign. Every dollar supports our work to end the foster-care-to-homelessness pipeline for young people aging out of foster care. If you haven't had a chance to contribute and would like to so, we would be deeply grateful.
Join Us at the Inaugural Youth Housing Summit
The only forum dedicated to solving the housing crisis for youth exiting foster care, the Fostering Promise Youth Housing Summit will be held on May 29th at the Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale. Gather with other solution-driven leaders for a day of inspiration and action as we make strides towards our goal of 500 new homes for emerging young adults by 2027. Space is limited and you don't want to miss this! Register or Sponsor today!
Our Work Groups Are Bustling
In the Housing Readiness Work Group, our wonderful interns from San Jose State University's Department of Information Technology are researching developers, landlords, and existing technological solutions as they prototype our mobile solution. The Mentor Work Group is laying the foundation to extend the successful CASA program to match young people aging out of foster care with a mentor who commits to them up to age 30. The More & Better Housing and Adult Systems Reform Work Groups have joined forces this quarter to help plan our first annual Youth Housing Summit (see above!)

Fostering Promise in the News – Health Trust Foundation Spotlight!
We are thrilled to be featured as a Health Trust grantee! Read the article to learn more about the inspiration behind our work.
I'm also pleased to share an op-ed I wrote which underscores some of the core values that drive our work. Published in the Private Directors Association blog, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: More than a Trend, a Necessity for Effective Boards —highlights DEI as integral to business success.
Support for Our Mission
We deeply appreciate the support of our current funders: Mercury News Wish Book, Health Trust, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, San Francisco County HSH, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Cisco and Hewlett Packard Foundation in honor of Roy Clay Sr.
As a growing organization, we appreciate every dollar donated and every connection made. Please consider investing in Fostering Promise by donating and sharing our work with your network. Or consider sponsoring a young person to attend our Youth Housing Summit. Together we are building a future in which every young person in foster care ages out with a safe place to call home, the support of a caring mentor, and hope for a promising future!
