What brought you to CUNY?
“First, I’m a CUNY alumna! I received my master’s in Higher Education Administration at the Marxe School in 2021. Growing up in Staten Island and attending SUNY Albany for my undergrad, I was drawn to working in the city and public education. During my master’s program, I worked for private colleges and always had my eye on working for CUNY to keep me close to home.”
What does your day-to-day job look like?
“It can vary! Some days I’m booked with appointments whether with students, alumni or employers. Others, I’m planning one to two months ahead for alumni career chats, employer info sessions and networking events.”
Are there any projects you are currently working on?
“Each semester I put together a series of alumni career chats and alumni roundtables, highlighting alumni careers such as development, institutional research and even career changers! It’s a way for us to highlight the diversity of professions, people and groups within the Marxe community.”
What do you do for fun?
“Talk about work-life balance — I love to stay active. I play kickball (yes, like in recess, for adults), volleyball and tap dance!”
What do you most emphasize when you tell someone you work at CUNY?
“Working at CUNY means that I can relate to and learn from my students and alumni. These are people who want to make positive changes and progress, no matter the size, and believe in the network they have here. We are CUNY proud because we believe education is for the public, and we contribute right back.”
