Hello, Map Friends!

We hope you have had a great start to 2024! Bob and Danielle kicked off the New Year with a walk around Chatham picking up litter. As Danielle wrote "Our annual New Year’s Day trash pickup walk around the block yielded three bags of trash along with scrap wood and metal. The 3 mile walk through the neighborhood, down the bike path and along Route 28 has become a welcome tradition."

Perri started the year with some much-needed quiet time with her husband and cats.

We are currently operating on our Winter Hours, which means we are closed on Sundays and Mondays. If you want to visit the store and can't make it during our normal hours, we may be able to accommodate by appointment. This is the time of year when we work hard to get as many maps, prints, and charts online as we can, so you can look forward to emails full of interesting new additions!

Below, we shall highlight some exciting new maps, but you can always visit our Newly Listed Maps section to see everything from the past month or so. We have a Great Maps - Super Deals category that offers our discounted items. And don't forget that we also have a category specifically for maps under $100!

If you are looking for something specific, we recommend using the search function or the "Filter By" function on the left side above the listings to search within a category.

A Charming Atlas of England

We expect to be adding more antique books and atlases to our website this year. The first new addition is this delightful atlas of England from the turn of the 19th Century. Jane Austen fans might be thrilled to think the Austen family could have had a similar atlas.

Renna (Reindeer) - Reproduction on Antique Paper

The owner of the atlas, M. Clayton, had extra pages bound into the book at front and back upon which he or she appears to have recorded their travels with distance in miles. The years noted on those pages are 1792, 1793, 1794, and 1815

Maps of Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury, Boston, MA

One thing that occasionally trips folks up is when they are searching for an antique map of a location that was known under a different name. Jamaica Plain is a well-known and loved part of Boston these days, but in 1890, it was known as part of West Roxbury. Knowing some history can make it so much easier to find the antique maps you are seeking!
