Hello, Siembra Leadership High School Community,
As we reflect on Family Engagement Week, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible participation and support. This past October marked the first of four rounds of Family Engagement Weeks, and we were thrilled to accommodate 324 family meetings—an amazing testament to our community’s commitment to our students’ success.
These meetings provided a wonderful opportunity for students to lead and showcase their work and achievements through their portfolios. Our Success Coaches played a vital role in guiding students during this special time.
Looking ahead, we’re excited for our next round of student-led Family Engagement Meetings in December. Remember, attending these meetings counts as attendance for your student for the week, so we hope to see you there!
We also want to remind you that your child's Success Coach is your go-to person at Siembra. They’re here to support you with any questions or resources you may need, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.
At Siembra Leadership High School, we cherish family involvement and strive to ensure you feel supported and honored in your child’s educational journey. Together, we’re creating a nurturing environment that empowers our students to thrive.
Thank you for being such a vital part of our community!

IEP Meetings
During the Fall Family Engagement Week, we completed several IEP meetings along with family meetings. Our Special Education Department wants to thank all the families, students, teachers, and staff who took part in reviewing and creating Individualized Education Programs for our students who require specialized instruction. The goal of our team is to have all of the IEPs student-led. It is our job, as a school, to ensure that all students who are on an IEP are served appropriately.
Quarter 1 2024 Midterm Data
Take a look at Siembra's Q1 2024 mid-term data! We are proud of the progress we’ve made. With 70% of our students on track and 137 college credit hours in progress, our students are taking big steps toward their futures.

Community School Initiatives
Welcoming Our New Community Liaison: Ingrid Ordóñez
We are honored to introduce Ingrid Ordóñez, our new Community Schools Liaison and Success Coach, who leads Siembra's Community School Initiatives. Ingrid brings over six years of experience in education, having transitioned through roles such as educational assistant, special education teacher, and internship coordinator.
In her first two months with us, Ingrid has been inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of Siembra students. “My favorite part about working with Siembra students is their desire to become business owners and their ability to do school while planning for their future,” she shares.
Ingrid plays a large role in building meaningful connections between our school and local organizations, ensuring our students have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Her day-to-day responsibilities include managing success projects, planning and coordinating initiatives, and collaborating with community partners to bring valuable support to our school.
We are excited to have Ingrid on the team and look forward to seeing the positive impact her work will have on our students and school community. Welcome to Siembra, Ingrid!

Roadrunner Food Bank Distribution
Siembra Leadership is a designated distribution center in partnership with the Road Runner Food Bank! Every third Thursday of the month, from 2-4 PM, everyone is welcome to come and receive a box of essential food items. This initiative is crucial in ensuring our community has access to nutritious resources, fostering a healthier and more connected environment for all families.
Thank you for your continued support!
Drivers Education
Siembra Leadership High School is offering a free Driver’s Education program for our students! This program is not only a valuable life skill but also an important step towards independence and responsibility. By providing this opportunity, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge and confidence needed to become safe, responsible drivers. This initiative can significantly enhance their mobility and open doors to new opportunities, whether for work, school, or personal growth.
Students in the current program are required to attend every Friday from 9AM-12PM, if students are interested in registering for the next session, please see Ms. Ingrid Ordóñez for more info.
Community Town Hall Meetings
The Community Town Hall initiative is designed to foster open dialogue and active participation among students, parents, and staff. These meetings will serve as a platform for discussing important issues, celebrating our successes, and collaborating to enhance our vibrant school community. Make sure and stay tuned to learn about upcoming dates and how you can participate.
Siembra’s Closet
Siembra’s Closet student club is working on the initiative that allows students to keep our closet filled with clothes and other items available to our students by promoting sustainability and community support. By taking on roles in shopping, organizing, and managing the closet, students gain valuable leadership skills and hands-on experience in project management. The Student Closet does not only address clothing needs within our school but also foster a culture of generosity and inclusivity. We invite all students to get involved, share ideas, and help create a welcoming space for everyone. Together, let's empower each other and make a positive impact in our community!
