The Chronicle of Philanthropy has once again ranked United Way as #1 on its list of America’s Favorite Charities. This ranking is based on United Way's cash support — the total value of money and stock received as gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Under the methodology it revised last year, the Chronicle focused on money that came directly from individuals; and excluded government grants, donated products and contributions to donor-advised funds.

 

United Way remains the mission of choice for everyday people—and many of America’s largest corporate partners—who want to support stronger communities and help those in need. They show this support through their generous gifts of money and time. Change doesn’t happen alone, so we are grateful for this vital support that enables us to make it happen.

National Family Caregivers Month in November recognizes the dedication of family members who provide round the clock care to loved ones. When medical conditions demand attention, family members step into roles they are often unprepared to accept. They become caregivers instead of partners or friends.
