Face Coverings Still
Required for Worship
|
As we do our best to be good neighbors to all in our Stony Creek and surrounding communities, we have asked all attendees, vaccinated or not, to wear a face covering while inside our sanctuary or Fellowship Hall. We know this is uncomfortable, but we want to do our part to reduce potential transmission. Disposable masks will be available for any who do not bring one. We hope to ease this restriction soon. Contact the church office or Pastor James with any questions.

Stony Creek Friends and Family,
I hope your family plans to take advantage of all the opportunities to serve, minister, learn, and worship in November this year! As our newsletter outlines, from beginning to end this is a busy month as we head toward the holiday season. If you need any additional information about our upcoming Food Drive, Holiday Fair, Secret Santa, or even my Pastor's Bible study, please do not hesitate to reach out to our church office. We are always ready to share additional information.
I want to share an additional word of thank you, in a public way, to all of our committee and board leadership during this past year. Our lay leaders have been dedicated, flexible, and even innovative as we have continued to explore the best possible ways to "be" church and foster faith community here in Stony Creek. As I shared at our annual meeting, I'm continually impressed by all of our lay leadership.
There have been some who have shared with me concerns about the continued face-covering requirement for large indoor groups, such as worship. We truly want to be the best possible neighbors in Stony Creek, and we want to create the safest environment for worship. We will tend to err on the side of caution. However, as soon as CDC guidelines and State of CT recommendations allow, we will end the mask requirement. I am hopeful that will be very soon. Like all of you, I long for a return to more music, choir, and other worship elements we have had to sacrifice during the pandemic. We have done well here in Stony Creek; we don't want to lose sight of our best possible goal now.
I hope you are already making plans for the upcoming Christmas season, too. While our Community Holiday Concert will not happen again this year, we do look forward to the Christmas tree lighting, the Stony Creek Live Pageant and Nativity, and our Christmas Eve Worship at 7pm and 11pm. Advent begins November 28th!
See you in Stony Creek and online...
Grace and peace,
Pastor James
