Giving Tuesday is November 30

We are busy working on our holiday appeal campaign which we’ll be launching on Giving Tuesday on November 30, 2021. Enjoy this exclusive “behind the scenes” photo of BCC Board Member, Tony Cornacchia in the studio last month. On November 30, Tony will also be assuming the role of Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, as he continues to give back to the community that gave so much to him during his diagnosis.

Stay tuned for our December newsletter with the official announcement of our new Board Chair!
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is touted as a "global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world." The “Opening day of the giving season,” it’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for their favourite causes.
Across Canada and around the world, Giving Tuesday unites communities by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.”
Without giving too much away, we think this year’s holiday appeal campaign and the patient stories are a beautiful demonstration of how our bladder cancer community comes together to support one another – and creates positive, ongoing change. Watch your email for more information!

Share your bladder cancer experience

Recently, the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition (WBCPC) launched the first-ever global bladder cancer patient experience survey. The survey represents a collaborative effort between the WBCPC and its 11 member organizations from around the world, including Bladder Cancer Canada.
The survey covers the entire bladder cancer patient pathway – from symptoms, screening, diagnosis, treatment and care, through to follow-up and survivorship. The survey is global, and available in 10 languages. Findings will be translated into a well-argued report analysing the strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in the bladder cancer care pathway from the patient perspective.
"These insights will help us as a global patient organisation to align our work with patient needs, and champion their views to drive care improvements using evidence-based advocacy,” said Dr Lydia Makaroff, President of the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition.
