Intern Spotlight - Mackenzie O. Mykleby
LUM Spring Intern for the Immigration Clinic
This spring, Mackenzie O. Mykleby is an intern with the LUM Immigration Clinic

Mackenzie grew up in Arlington, IL, with her parents, her younger brother, and the “most adorable” black lab named Briggs. She currently lives in West Lafayette, where she is in her second year at Purdue University, majoring in Economics & Political Science with a minor in Spanish. When she graduates in May 2026, Mackenzie plans on pursuing a law degree.

Mackenzie encourages others to volunteer or pursue an internship with LUM, stating that, "So far, I’ve had a great time meeting with clients and helping them find solutions to the issues that they come to us with. I take a lot of pride in volunteering for LUM because the organization provides support and resources for the local community in many ways."

LUM is fortunate to have someone with Mackenzie's, passion, experience, and work ethic working as an intern this semester. To read more about Mackenzie, click HERE.
Our Future, Our Mission, Our Commitment
Expanding Two LUM Programs in 2024
After careful consideration and extensive research, LUM has found that expanding two of our programs better serves the needs of our community in 2024.

Winter Warming Station: This winter, LUM enhanced the LUM Winter Warming Station by welcoming guests at 9 p.m., three hours earlier than before. Additionally, we've relocated the program to accommodate more than 50 guests per night, effectively doubling our capacity.

Protein Food Pantry: This summer, LUM is excited to announce that the LUM Protein Food Pantry will be open an additional day each week. This expansion aims to address a gap in local food assistance and further amplify the impact of LUM within our community.

Join us as we continue to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Please consider donating, investing, engaging, or volunteering.
