The motel was owned and operated by the Secret Family since 1964. Frank Secret was the last surviving founding family member and came to work every day before passing at the age of 100 in 2017. After Frank’s passing, his son Pete ran the day-to-day operations of the motel while his cousin Anthony took charge of the financial aspect of the business. They ultimately knew the motel had run full circle and it was time to sell. The Secret family engaged the services of Black Diamond Realty to market the property and secure a purchaser. Once on the market, the motel generated a great deal of interest and there were countless showings. The City of Bridgeport ended up purchasing the property and plans on using the 2.73 site for future growth and development. 

The Dallas Street property consisted of 6 units (18 beds) and offered off-street parking steps from WVU’s downtown campus. The property was a stabilized cash-flowing asset that offers a value add component. Black Diamond Realty represented the seller and procured the buyer.
