On Friday August 30th, the United Way of Forsyth County hosted its 18th Annual Day of Caring at the Forsyth Conference Center at Lanier Technical college. This event is our largest volunteer event each year, with over 50 teams representing local businesses and organizations participating. This year, more than 800 volunteers packaged over 188,000 meals! Those meals were distributed to local food pantries and programs serving community. An additional 66 volunteers assisted local nonprofits with projects at their facilities. Volunteers wearing their annual Day of Caring t-shirt, were greeted with refreshments and a team plaque at check-in. The atmosphere was upbeat with music and volunteers singing along, while packing bean soups and apple cinnamon oatmeal. This event truly brings an entire community together. Thank you again to all our volunteers and sponsors! #LIVEUNITED
