Welcome to our Annual Earth Day Issue
Thanks to all the organizations who shared their events

April is Earth Month. A time to come together, celebrate the place we love, and recommit to protecting it for generations to come. Here on Cape Cod, we're experiencing the effects of our warming climate first-hand: rising sea levels eroding our coastline, intensifying storms impacting our homes and businesses, warming waters, and ocean acidification threatening the marine ecosystems at the heart of our community's identity.
This year, the need for local action has never been greater. As federal support for climate and environmental initiatives continues to evaporate, the responsibility (and the opportunity) falls to us. Cape Cod communities, organizations, and neighbors are stepping up, driving the adaptation and resilience work that will define our region's future. That kind of grassroots commitment is something to celebrate.
And there is much to celebrate. Across the Cape, a remarkable network of organizations works year-round to care for our shared environment: our waters, our wetlands, our wildlife, and our coastline. During the month of April, there are numerous opportunities for you to connect with that community, learn, take action, and find inspiration close to home.
Read on to explore what's happening across Cape Cod, and find your way to get involved. Together, we can build a more resilient, vibrant future for this very special place we call home.
| Celebrate Jane Goodall's Birthday with #GoodAllDay on April 3rd | |
Each year, as Jane Goodallâs birthday approaches, the outpouring of love from those who wish to celebrate her is truly overwhelming. Many supporters ask how they can honor her: whether by sending flowers, personalized T-shirts, or even stuffed animals. This kindness means a great deal to Dr. Goodall and everyone at the Jane Goodall Institute.
Thatâs why #GoodAllDay was created, a global movement to honor Janeâs ongoing legacy by making a difference. Jane has spent her life proving that every individual makes a difference, and that small acts, especially when multiplied, can change the world.
So for her birthday, instead of gifts, we invite you to join #GoodAllDay, a global movement inspired by her name and her ongoing commitment to turning hope into action.
The idea is simple: do good, all day. Whether itâs planting a tree, reducing waste, helping a neighbor, or standing up for wildlife, every action (no matter how big or small) matters. And by joining #GoodAllDay, youâre not just celebrating her, youâre helping build a better, more hopeful world just as Jane continues to do.
