Happy Father's day. I hope you were blessed to spend the day celebrating men who have helped shape your lives.

I don't know about you...but I'm still in the "afterglow" of the trouncing of Eric Cantor. We shouldn't read too much into it, I don't think, because there were lots of factors that contributed to the upset. Tea Partiers can't take too much of the credit.
The fact that Virginia has open primaries made a big difference. But, at the end of the day, the defeat of Cantor by someone who appears to fall in line with Tea Party principles is that big shot in the arm we all needed.

Please remember to include our annual "Reading of the Declaration" in your 4th of July plans. Details are below. It's a short program in a central location. Hope you'll make it and invite others.

Don't forget about supporting our good friend Mike Cartuyvelles and his business. SubStation II is being hit hard by the traffic tie ups on 42 due to construction. Mike has supported us by hosting the Grassroots Tea Party since 2007 every Monday.

Read the Declaration on July 4th

Enjoy the flavor of old fashioned Americana at the 3rd Annual Read the Declaration on July 4! Our speakers include Rick Brueggemann, next Circuit Court Judge and Teresa Cunningham, next KY Supreme Court Justice.

Toni Meyer's bombshell request at

 6/14 School Board Mtg:

"As a resident of Boone County, I am requesting information on cost of data mining equipment and sensors that will be used on the students- facial recognition camera, posture analysis seat, pressure mouse, wireless skin conductance wrist sensors, functional MRI's and other data collecting equipment".

It seemed that no one on the board knew anything about this.  I presented copies of sections of "Promoting Grit, Tenacity, and Perseverance" from U.S. Dept of Education, Office of Educational Technology.  You can Google this.  The pages handed out were 31-32 and 44 with pictures and descriptions of equipment.

Here is an excerpt from this document:

With the prevalence of new digital learning resources and learning technologies, new forms of measurement are emerging, making it possible to go beyond conventional approaches. For example, data mining techniques can track students' trajectories of persistence and learning over time, thereby providing actionable feedback to students and teachers. In addition, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and physiological indicators offer insight into the biology and neuroscience underlying observed student behaviors.

Dr. Rand Paul Continues to Object to Federal Reserve Nominations

From the office of Senator Rand Paul:

On Monday, I declared my intent to object to the pending nominations to the Federal Reserve System unless S. 209, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, is also considered. For four consecutive years, I have requested consideration of the Federal Reserve Transparency Act and will continue to oppose all Federal Reserve nominations until this legislation is considered.

The American people have a right to know what this institution is doing with the nation's money supply. The Federal Reserve does not need prolonged secrecy-it needs to be audited, and my bipartisan Federal Reserve Transparency Act will do just that.
