Shabbat Morning Service

Join us for our annual summer service.
These volunteer members of our shul will lead the service and contribute music:
Brian Cohen (D'var Torah)
Ed Weiss (chanting Torah)
Penny Winestock (Chazzanut and drum)
Ellie Goldenberg (Chazzanut)
Lorne Gould (flute)
Please bring your children. They are welcome in the chapel and/or may enjoy activities in the children's room (suitable for ages three to seven years old).
A very light kiddish lunch will follow the service.

2018/5779 HIGH HOLY DAYS
Services for the High Holy Days will take place on September 9-11 (Rosh Hashanah) and September 18-19 (Yom Kippur) at our First Unitarian Toronto site, 175 St. Clair Ave. W, near Avenue Rd. All services will be led by Rabbi Goldberg and Chazzan Gesundheit.
Memberships (which include High Holy Days' tickets) and single-service tickets are now on sale.

An Adult Education program presented by Rabbi Goldberg on the High Holy Days will take place in the chapel, starting at 1 pm.

Our Holocaust Education Week (HEW) program,
Enduring Witness: David Olere's Picture Testimony, presented by Shir Libeynu member and York University
Professor Emerita, Carol Zemel, will take place at 1:30 p.m. (after the kiddish).
Presented by Congregation Shir Libeynu. A co-presentation with the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre.

Shir Libeynu Film Series
519 Church Street Community Centre
Our very successful film series will begin again in October.
All films will start at 1:30 pm followed by a question/answer session. The program will conclude by 4:00 pm.

Our UJA Community Volunteer, 2018: Eden Nameri
Every June, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto features community volunteers from across the GTA on UJA's Community Volunteers webpage . This annual roster pays tribute to the volunteers' work and publicly highlights their contributions to their communities. A selected volunteer represents her/his organization throughout the year. Harriet Eisenkraft was our representative in 2017. In 2018, our representative is Eden Nameri.

This spellbinding play takes audiences on a mesmerizing journey through Jewish folklore and the spiritual world. Blending comedy and tragedy, mysticism and psychology, the evocative work is awash in spectacular imagery, rich emotion, and theatrical magic. The show will be performed in Hebrew with English and Russian surtitles.
