Our True Refuge

On March 14, as the Corona Virus began affecting the Philippines, we quarantined our building as the government closed down the entire island of Luzon.

Many of our staff, 40 to be exact, agreed to stay in and continue working and caring for the 170 plus children we have. We felt that we just had too many compromised children to risk any of them getting ill. Other staff continue to work from home as we try to keep some sense of 'normal' about life.

The children are not anxious and not worried. Even though they have not left the building in more than a month, they happily do their school, chores and activities, and play without a care in the world.
They are safe.

As the days have turned into weeks and uncertainty lies ahead,
we are thankful for God's provision and care for GHI.

The staff is learning to trust God and to live at peace on a level deeper than ever before.
God is faithful and continues to care for HIs precious children.
A deep thank you to those who have helped us get eggs and meat delivered and those who have braved checkpoints and police to bring us vegetables and fruit.

We pray for you as your life too, is affected by the events of this time and as our world suffers,
we pray for God's peace to surround your hearts. He is our true refuge in this difficult time.
"I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
Psalm 91:2-4
Whatever you give, will make a difference as we work in bringing care,
healing and hope to children in crisis.
