At the Union County Foundation, our commitment to enhancing the quality of life in our community is unwavering. To better understand the needs and aspirations of Union County residents, we have partnered with Stratavize, a renowned consulting firm. Together, we have undertaken a comprehensive data collection initiative, gathering insights through surveys and community group discussions. This initiative is pivotal in shaping our future endeavors, ensuring that our actions are aligned with the community's needs and goals.

The insights we will share are not merely statistics or abstract concepts; they represent the voices and experiences of Union County residents. Your feedback and participation have been crucial in this process, and we are deeply grateful for your input. As we move forward, the Union County Foundation is dedicated to transforming these insights into tangible improvements. Whether it’s through new programs, policy advocacy, or community partnerships, we are committed to making a lasting, positive impact.

Week 2- Workforce

Majority of residents living in UC commute to another county to work.

A lot of our data is showing our population is older and retired. How can we make things more attractive for all age groups and make it more accommodating to the older generation currently living here?

On a scale from 1-5, survey participants ranked job opportunities and professional development as a low opportunity.

The graphic above is part of our survey only answered by high school students. As you can see, over 55% do not believe there are job opportunities in UC. Their needs to continue living here after graduation were expanded job opportunities, matched with higher-wage employment opportunities. Proximity to family and friends was a high third.
