"The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.”

Working from a distance, in some ways, enables us to take a closer look at what is most important. As we finish week 2 or our "new normal" I realize, more than ever, what an exceptional community we have at St. Rose School. Thank you -- teachers, parents and students -- for your dedication, motivation and collaboration as we navigate these uncertain waters together. Our sails are set toward bright horizons. Click here for a video message from Mr. G.
Dear St. Rose School Families,
I miss your children's smiling faces and happy voices in the halls. But it is wonderful to see all of the photos and videos you are sending as they school from home. And the teachers have been giving me great feedback about how their face to face sessions are going. Technology is a gift in these circumstances.
I want to thank all parents for your patience and encouragement in this collective struggle. I realize that this is a difficult time as you juggle work and home life with the addition of e-learning. While the lessons and homework are teacher driven, we realize that you are the at home touchstone so we appreciate your partnership in the process. Please continue to share your questions and concerns so that we can ensure the best experience for all. The HSA Board has been working closely with our Administration team so that we are all in the loop together. Please read the attached letter from Dr. Cheeseman.
I have asked all Specials teachers to post their assignments in the newsletter every Friday. We think it will be helpful to make Thursdays, 8 a.m. -
8 p.m. the submission time for these assignments. Students are welcome to turn them in other days but having one specific day on the calendar might be beneficial for organizational purposes. Thank you.
We will be introducing the program IXL.com as a supplemental learning tool for children in K-8th grade. While this is not mandatory it can be an enrichment resource that is helpful especially during the April break when school will not be in session.Attached is a letter outlining IXL.com and your teachers will provide all of the necessary login information.
Now is a great chance to talk up St. Rose School with your family and friends. Encourage them to visit our website, Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram. They can take a virtual tour and attend virtual Q & A sessions with Faculty which will be coming up in April. We are planning for a bright future.
Please continue to share your happy moments and photos. We also ask that you inform us if anyone in your family is diagnosed with Covid-19.
We are keeping our school families, health care workers, all who are ill and on the front lines in our constant prayers.
At times like these it's difficult to distinguish one day from the next. But it is important to recharge batteries. So, the weekend is here. Close your books/computers, leave your work station, re-connect with family members, take a walk, make a new recipe, go on a virtual adventure...enjoy. We appreciate you giving the teachers downtime over the weekend as well so we will continue with our weekdays, 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. teacher contact hours for routine school/class matters.
Stay healthy and hopeful!
Mr. Bardhyl Gjoka

Mrs. Rahtelli says her favorite thing about teaching Kindergarten is "growing to love my little pumpkins like they are my own. I LOVE coming to school each day!"
Her best advice to parents about distance learning is "not to stress about anything, we are all in this together and it is new to all of us.
Learning is supposed to be fun, so relax and
it will happen. God is our guide, give him all of your worries!"
We hope you are doing well and your kids are adjusting to their e-schedules well.
We are amazed and truly grateful to the St. Rose School faculty and staff, who've transitioned us so well to this new platform!
Looking forward to April, we are delighted to let you know that Scott Driscoll is still available to conduct his Internet Safety presentation...online, of course! Attached is a link to a survey that will help us identify the best time to conduct these sessions - he's generously agreed to do two "live" sessions for us.
Please take a moment to fill out the survey, and we will let you know when and how to virtually attend.
Blessings to you and yours for good health and sanity,
