The Blooms Event was amazing! The room was filled with people who truly love St. Rose School and it was so evident why Dr. John and Mrs. Nancy Murphy deserve this award. Thank you to all who made the night such a success -- we have raised over $90,000 at an extremely critical time for our school. God is watching over us!
Congratulations to Dr. John and Mrs. Nancy Murphy, recipients of the Monsignor Robert E. Weiss Award for service, in recognition of their dedication to Catholic education and community service. Click here to read the program
Dear St. Rose School Families,
Spring is in the air! The warmer temperatures and longer daylight are motivating. In fact, we turn the clocks ahead this weekend which means everyone may be a little sleepy for a few days but more sun is a good thing for all!
Iowa testing begins next Tuesday. I know the teachers have been preparing students and I am confident that parents will ensure healthy eating and sleeping habits which are so important for testing. Please assure your children, as we do, not to get overly anxious about these tests. They know the material and we are very pleased with their hard work.
We are getting closer to First Holy Communion and in preparation there is an important workshop for (one or both) parents and children on Sunday March 8th from 9:15-10:15 in the Holy Innocents Building. Please contact religious education if you are unable to attend.
Next week (March 13-15) is the annual 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. Mrs. Petrillo, Mrs. Quinn, myself and several parent chaperones will accompany our 8th graders to the nation's capitol and explore the fascinating history it holds. Please keep us in your prayers for safe, happy travels. I will keep in close contact with Mrs. B who will hold down the fort in my absence.
We have been very successful with our fundraising to date and I am deeply grateful to everyone for your generosity. Let's keep the momentum going as we strive to exceed our goal. Every donation is another brick in the strong foundation of St. Rose School. These are not easy times for Catholic Schools but based on what I saw and heard at the Blooms Benefit, this kind of education is a gift so we want to make sure it is an option for many years to come. Thank you!
I have had the chance to visit with Monsignor Bob a few times. He is recuperating well and appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers. He is looking forward to getting back home so let's hope that will be soon.
Our new custodian, Mr. Antonio, began this week. Let's give him a warm St. Rose School welcome.
Please join me in wishing Lily Fagan, Kathryn Prieto and Mason McSwiggan good luck at the State Science & Engineering Fair at Quinnipiac on Monday, March 9th.
Enjoy the weekend!
Mr. Bardhyl Gjoka

The Lenten Mission Drive is off to a wonderful start. Congratulations to the Beanie Baby winners! We are so proud of the children who are giving up some of their favorite things to support schools in Ghana and the needy of our parish and town. Thank you for your generosity.
As you know from our calendar, we have a very active Spring leading us up to the end of the school year. We are excited to coordinate these activities that allow us to enjoy the St. Rose School community. We need your help, though! Carrie Sirois, who is chairing the Father/Daughter dance in April, is still in need of three to four volunteers to help run this beloved event. If you are able to assist in any way, would you please contact Carrie directly or let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org? Thank you!
We are also in need of volunteers for the nominating committee to assist in reviewing (or identifying) interested parties for each open Board position and coming up with a nominating committee slate to vote on. If you are interested in serving on the nomination committee, or in serving on the HSA Board (as Vice-President or Secretary), please send an email to email@example.com. The HSA Board is a great way to be involved with the school, and contribute to our overall success as a school community.
If there is interest in a Mother/Son event, we are still looking for volunteers to coordinate it. We'd love to provide a venue to appeal to all age young men in our SRS community. Let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We appreciate all you do to support the St. Rose school community with your time, talent and involvement. Please consider these open volunteer opportunities to help us engage the school community at the level we all enjoy.
