Family Finds Housing

We had a family move out 3 days before Christmas! With Christmas general donations, organizing Christmas presents and meals with our Sponsor a Family program, and bringing in a family of eight, we were very busy elves! We provided many needed supplies and beds, and donated furniture to get them set up in their new home. We thank you for your patience during this busy time, and look forward to the New Year.

This mom worked so very hard over the past months in a recovery program, now works a full-time job, and met all of her goals. The lack of affordable housing in Manitowoc poses a long road to securing sustainable housing. After being denied and starting over many times, we had a very joyous and tearful key celebration as her daughter pinned their family key to our key collection. Her perserverance and faith proved to bring her to a new home. We will continue to support them with Home With Hope, our aftercare program to ensure their success.

Stecker Machine Company Shines Bright for our Families

Employees from Stecker Machine Company wanted to brighten the holidays for our families. We received 150 wrapped gifts, and they provided full Christmas meals for four families in our Home With Hope aftercare program! We thank you for your generosity and commitment to serving those who are experiencing homelessness in our community.

Thanks to all of you, our families were encouraged and felt supported on their journey towards self-sufficiency.

Our Volunteers & Donors are Extra-Exceptional-Spectacular

We are so blessed to have a family of volunteers who support us in serving those in need. From the numerous treats, physical donations, blankets, pillows, cleaning supplies, home items for moving out and toiletries - the list is endless. Each donation and every dollar makes a difference. Every bit of support, including your time in volunteering is much appreciated and allows us to do what we do!

We currently need volunteers to help with every other weekend shifts. If you can help a shift, let us know. We greatly appreciate you!

Weekend shift times are:

1st shift: 8-11 AM

2nd Shift: 11 AM-2 PM

3rd Shift: 2-5 PM

How to Address Illness at Hope House

With the many viruses and colds happening in the community at this time of year, we are encouraging our guests to do more cleaning to prevent sharing any illness.

If a guest comes to staff or volunteers and says they are feeling ill, please advise them:

1. To wear a mask in common areas and stay in their room as much as possible. 
2. The child and/or parent should check with staff in the morning (or the overnight staff on the weekends) and we will ask questions to see if they need a Covid test. 
3. If someone is very ill, they need to go to Urgent care or the Emergency Room.
4. Volunteers, call us on the staff phone if you have any questions.

• Kwik Trip Gas Cards ($10 or $20 increments. Guests use these to get to appointments, interviews and look at housing)
