Winter gives us a chance to slow down just a bit, take stock, and look ahead to what’s coming next at Montco SAAC. And there’s a lot to be thankful for.
We’re especially grateful for the continued support from Montgomery County, which has helped us move forward with renovations at our Norristown Center. These improvements aren’t just about updating a building, they’re about creating a space that feels welcoming, accessible, and ready to serve our community.
As a nonprofit, our work is only possible because of the generous support we receive from individuals, local businesses, and foundations. This past fall, we experienced the true power of community when we asked you to help fill the gap when some of our members’ SNAP benefits were delayed. This was a true emergency for those that relied on this monthly support. We are thankful for the individuals who stepped up to help lessen the impact. Their generosity allowed us to continue providing meals and support that help older adults stay healthy, connected, and independent. And speaking of nutrition support, we are so proud of our small staff and dedicated volunteers that helped us serve over 130,000 meals this year to Meals on Wheels clients.
There’s also exciting work happening at our Ambler Center. We’ve begun meeting with architects to help shape a long-term vision for the property. It’s energizing to imagine how this space can support aging adults not just now, but for generations to come. And our Art Center? It’s buzzing. Classes are filling, creativity is flowing, and we’re exploring ways to make programs more accessible for working adults through evening and weekend offerings.
As we move through the winter months, we do so with gratitude for everyone who makes this work possible and with real excitement about what lies ahead. If you'd like to support our center, consider making a donation at the link below. Any amount makes a difference for our members, this season and beyond.
