However you chose to Race Against Hate this month, thank you
Thanks to the 1500 people who registered and enlisted family, friends, and coworkers for a race without a start/finish line, awards, goody bags, water stations, mile markers, or cheering crowds.

And to all our sponsors, who came out to support us for an event without a huge crowd, a field lined with tents, or a course lined with logos.

You helped us exceed our expectations by raising over $100,000, proceeds which help support our violence prevention and racial equity programs.

You all are Race Heroes, and we can't thank you enough for supporting the spirit of the Race in 2020 and 2021. Next year, we're all in again! Please save Sunday morning, June 19, 2022 for a very special Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate on what will also be the U.S. celebration of Juneteenth!
Race shirts are still available ($25 adult, $10 youth)! Call ahead for quantities/sizes, then pick up your shirt at YWCA Crowded Closet, 820 Dempster Street, Evanston (847-475-1135). Crowded Closet is open Tu-Th 12pm – 5pm, and Fr/Sat 10am – 5pm.
Tiffany McDowell addresses reparations and the significance of Juneteenth
Tiffany McDowell, our Equity Institute Director, was interviewed last Friday for YWCA Cleveland's "Go Live for Equity" Series.

The topic was reparations, and the interview was held on the day that Juneteenth became a national holiday.

What does this mean for our communities?

June 30 is the last day to get your Campaign for the Future engraved brick
Our YWCA campus expansion is almost done! The Family Support Center will be ready for clients next month. The tower that houses our Equity Institute and Economic Advancement Center looks amazing, and the new Aquatics locker rooms are almost done!

The final piece is the landscaping and the brick walkway leading to our main entrance. That’s why we need your brick order today! All orders must be in by June 30th so the bricks can be ordered, engraved and installed by our September grand opening.

So please don't wait! Your brick donation will support our Campaign for the Future. Your gift will be a lasting legacy, and your brick will help us finish our new home.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to leave lasting legacy! We only need 34 more brick donations to reach our goal of installing 100 engraved bricks in our new walkway. You can help by purchasing a brick today. Your donation supports our Campaign for the Future and will help us finish our new home.
