At Old Mill Center, preventing child abuse is what we do every day.
Many families in our community are facing overwhelming challenges due to the pandemic. In times of crisis, the risk of child abuse increases. The current prevalence of child abuse is likely at an all-time high, despite abuse reports being drastically low.
Our Relief Nursery team works directly with vulnerable families – offering support, services and resources to keep kids safe. We provide therapeutic respite, and connect with families weekly through video calls and socially-distanced visits. We offer groceries, diapers and other basic necessities to struggling families. When abuse has occurred, our therapists provide mental health services to support healing.
