Fall and Winter Tips

Why use pine Straw?

Not only pine straw makes your beds look neat, but it also helps with erosion, and protects plants from freezing conditions, helping keep the soil around the plants at a stable temperature. Call us at 678-851-2142 to schedule a delivery or an installation.

Protect your bulbs

Sprinkle pine straw over bulb foliage that has emerged too soon and hide them from the cold.

Water your Christmas tree and Poinsettias

Forget the powders and potions! What a Christmas tree needs to stay fresh is a constant supply of water around its base. (just the real trees, fake ones do not need watering).

Poinsettias do not need fertilizing now, but they do need watering. Check the dryness of the soil daily to keep them looking their brilliant best.

Fill your bird feeder

Bird feeders bring lots of colorful activity to a yard in cold weather. Most bird experts recommend black oil sunflower seed for general feeding. Thistle seed and suet cakes attract birds you might not have seen before. Plus it gives you free entertainment to watch the birds enjoy their feast.

What projects did we worked on this Fall

This Fall we:

  • installed several custom fences;
  • build a deck;
  • did several patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
  • installed a lot of Green Giants (55 to be exact).
  • installed annuals and Fescue sod.
  • And finally, we donated our time and materials to Camp Creek Elementary School in Lilburn, to help them with their outdoor classroom.

Check our website and Facebook pages for more ideas and pictures of our work.

Feel free to call us at 678-851-2142 to schedule an appointment for your next outdoor living project.
