Through the ministries of GHHOH, the primary outcome we seek is lives transformed by the power of God through Jesus Christ. This God-honoring life change gives residents the internal motivation and spiritual equipment to have their entire lives transformed, and lived, to the glory of Jesus Christ. We recognize that God uses a number of services and professionals to assist addicts with the profound needs many residents face. Therefore, we partner with several agencies to provide a complete, whole person approach to their transformation. However, the focus of our programs center around discipleship materials such as those used by Teen and Adult Challenge.
Testimony from a resident of GHHOH
"When I sit back and think of my journey, I can HONESTLY say, that I have been asking God for an opportunity like this. To be flooded with such positive people surrounding me. I remember teen challenge, and how I “thought” I was doing good, when reality was I was lying to myself and others with sneaking in a phone, ordering Amazon everyday trying to fill a void in my life. Some of the studies my mentor and I have been doing, I’m not chasing that next unsatisfying thing BUT the word of God, and truth. I caught myself crying out today in thanksgiving for God putting me back in Hayward, with true men of God. To say that I am happy today is an understatement!! I can feel the work he has begun within me.... Being present has always somehow escaped me. I have either ran or hid from my past, lost myself in the fear of the future. What an amazing beginning LEP was, and where I have landed, within the hands of God.""
Today is a good example of many opportunities we have to ministry to those in need. One man came in off the street. While he was resistant toward engaging in the full program, we assisted him in finding temporary housing and will re-engage with him over the coming days. We are in touch with several other men to whom we are ministering, and who may come to stay with us in the future.
We are also about to launch a Christ-centered recovery meeting (probably on Thursday nights) that will be based on the “Overcomers” material.
