Leading up to World Blood Donor Day on June 14, we knew an ambitious project lay ahead of us. Raise $20,000? In five days? For a hospital half a world away?

You might say it was a lofty goal, but we understood what that money would mean for millions of people in Ghana. We also understood a little bit about the unbelievable generosity of OBI blood donors.

Well, the results are in... WE DID IT!

So many of you embodied the spirit of giving needed to make this day a reality. And your charity was infectious — blood centers and organizations from across the U.S. pitched in, while many of us here at OBI donated or offered up our paid vacation to the tune of more than $7,500.

Ultimately though, this fundraiser wouldn't have succeeded without you, our donors.

We're proud to announce that our $20,000 goal wasn't ambitious enough — thanks to you, we raised $29,794!!

If you'll recall, those funds will be used to purchase lab equipment necessary for Hope Christian Hospital’s expansion into an accredited regional blood bank, which will give them the ability to provide blood transfusions not in a day, not in a week, but in a matter of hours or even minutes.

By raising nearly $10,000 more than our goal, the opening of a new blood bank in Ghana should now happen even faster. We couldn't be happier.
