Our hearts break for our fellow citizens affected by the wildfires bookending California. And, humans aren't the only ones suffering: dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and all manner of animal companions are also affected.

Animal rescue folks are giving their all, working to care for animals until they can be reunited with their families.

In the North, Butte Humane Society is operating a large-scale, temporary shelter at the Chico airport and is asking for supplies to help - see below.  They have also set up an Amazon Wish List here:  Items purchased from the list, will be sent to the Humane Society.

In the South,  many animal rescue organizations are involved in providing care for animal. The Humane Society of Ventura County is accepting animals affected by the fires.  They've opened a temporary shelter at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.  If you are nearby, you can bring supplies like the above directly there.   Or, you can make a donation here:
The Agoura Hills animal care facility has been evacuated, but other facilities in the area are also caring for fire-affected animals.
Also, Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control is caring for about 700 evacuated animals.  They are using several facilities.  You can donate here:
spcaLA has their Disaster Animal Rescue Team deployed to the area; you can support it here:

Anything that affects people affects their animals, and anything that affects animals affects their people.  We hope you'll help if you can.
