Habitat Updates
Like so many local small businesses, we are grateful to be open and able to serve our community. We have had to make some changes in the past two months, and we are humbled by the generosity of our supporters who continue to give, shop, and eagerly await the time they can volunteer again! Here is an update on our efforts and operations during this challenging time.

We’re nearing the end on Los Esteros Court, with just a little bit of work left in the last home. We are grateful for the amazing volunteers and groups we had as part of the Lowe's International Women Build in March just before the shelter-in-place. The new family is almost ready to move in, thanks to our hardworking volunteers, construction crew, and our donors who answered the call to help finish the home amid these ever-changing circumstances.

We’re also excited to be on the cusp of starting work at Rodeo Creek Court, which will be 11 new homes. Stay tuned for more updates about that project.

Last is our ReStores. After the public health officer directed us to shelter in place, we’ve moved our ReStore inventory online . You can now shop for furniture and home improvement products from the comfort of your home! We've joined with the Santa Cruz Ride out the Wave campaign, which supports small businesses offering gift certificates and online shopping. Thank you to all who have already purchased gift certificates!

While the coronavirus has had a significant impact on all of us, it’s now more important than ever to continue building safe homes for people. We recently created the Habitat Now Campaign to increase awareness about our mission during these difficult times.

Even in times of crisis, our work is so desperately needed and your support is appreciated now more than ever. When the pandemic has subsided, the need for affordable housing will remain, and Habitat Monterey Bay is here to continue the good fight! The hardworking families in our region awaiting our help are counting on us all.

Thank you for believing in us and being a part of our community. From all of us at Habitat Monterey Bay, we wish you good health!
